Before the kickoff of the most prestigious football competition on the planet, the president of the powerful FIFA, Gianni Infantino, caused an uproar by calling to “calm down and relax,” following a question about the silence and attitude of the international football body regarding the expulsion of Somali referee Omar Artan. The latter, although appointed by the organization led by Infantino, was refused entry into the United States for the major global sporting event.
Infantino justified his subservience to Donald Trump by insisting that FIFA is not “the queen of the world” and cannot override the strict decisions of border services. Gianni Infantino, although a lawyer, abandoned the Somali referee and awarded the “FIFA Nobel Prize” to Donald Trump, who is implicated in the genocide of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples, on the same level as the generals of the army of the “most democratic country in the world” in Tel Aviv.
Did he not recently attempt to bring together the president of the federation of the Zionist entity with that of the Palestinian football federation, knowing that dozens of Palestinian footballers and their families are targeted by the Zionist war machine? A Zionist entity which a large majority of FIFA member nations are calling to expel, as a fair measure in defense of the moral principles and slogans of Fair Play promoted and defended by FIFA. The latter did not hesitate for a moment to expel Russia in March 2022 after the start of the war between Moscow and Kyiv.
While considering that the United States is sovereign in applying its laws on its territory regarding the stay of foreigners and immigration, Gianni Infantino nevertheless gave himself the right to interfere in a judicial case in Algeria related to the imprisonment of Christophe Gleizes, who, it should be recalled, violated Algerian laws by using his status as a journalist to broadcast a report without authorization from the competent Algerian authorities, supporting a terrorist organization responsible for criminal and terrorist acts.
While claiming that FIFA does not intend to involve itself in political affairs, in accordance with its statutes, the organization led by Gianni Infantino nevertheless granted accreditation to Christophe Gleizes, a contributor to So Foot magazine, even though many Algerian journalists wishing to travel to the USA to cover the event and inform Algerians about their national team participating in this World Cup were clearly denied entry.
By granting accreditation to a so-called journalist and activist who will not be able to attend the stadiums, the organization chaired by Gianni Infantino turns a simple administrative document into a tool of communication and political pressure, confirming its role as an organization serving colonial powers.
FIFA against the Algerian revolution
In an investigative article published by Algérie54 on July 5, 2022, titled “FIFA against the Algerian revolution,” researcher and geopolitical expert Dr. Ahmed Bensaada discussed FIFA’s dishonorable role toward Algeria and its heroic FLN team.
Ahmed Bensaada quoted statements by former president of the English Football Association Lord Triesman, who said: “FIFA acts like a mafia family.” He further stated that its officials “use football to live like monarchs” and that “what is shocking is that they make no attempt to hide their corruption.”
