Elon Musk’s father on Russian state TV : Jeffrey Epstein is still alive

As reported by Daily Mail, the father of billionaire Elon Musk has used a primetime interview on Russian state television to claim that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein is still alive—while President Vladimir Putin’s self-declared Easter ceasefire was being violated by Russian forces.

Errol Musk, 79, told a studio audience on Kremlin-controlled TV that it was « absurd » and « ridiculous » to believe Epstein died in his prison cell in August 2019. The financier’s death was officially ruled a suicide by New York City’s chief medical examiner.

« In my opinion, it’s absurd to think that he is dead, » Errol Musk said, prompting groans from the audience. « The prison guards have come out to say that he was swapped out the night before he was supposed to commit suicide. The cameras were off at the wrong time, the guards went to sleep. It’s absolutely absurd to think that this man is [dead]. He’s alive and well. »

There is no credible evidence to support the claim that Epstein is alive. Multiple investigations into his death found no indication of foul play or a cover-up.

Errol Musk’s appearance on Russian state media—a propaganda network closely controlled by the Kremlin—comes during a two-week visit to Russia focused on « research projects with Russian scientists, » according to the Moscow Times. He has previously said that « as a family… we are a little bit in awe of Mr. Putin. »

The interview aired just as Putin was attending a Russian Orthodox Easter midnight service at Moscow’s Christ the Saviour Cathedral, where he appeared « wearing heavy makeup » and looking « weary and tired, » according to observers.

Hours earlier, Putin had declared a 32-hour ceasefire over the Easter weekend, ordering Russian forces to halt hostilities from 4pm Saturday until the end of Sunday. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky agreed to the truce, describing it as an opportunity to build on peace initiatives—while warning of a swift response to any violations.

Russia then violated its own ceasefire. Ukrainian forces reported nearly 470 Russian violations, including drone attacks on Ukrainian positions on Saturday evening.

« The ceasefire is not being observed by the Russian side, » said Serhii Kolesnychenko, a communications officer for Ukraine’s 148th Separate Artillery Brigade.

In his Easter message, Putin struck a markedly different tone, speaking of « sincere joy, faith in the all-conquering power of life, in the triumph of love, goodness, and justice. » He praised « our heroes—the participants and veterans of the special military operation. »

Errol Musk, who has previously blamed his son Elon for falling out with Donald Trump, was seen over the weekend at the Moscow cathedral service attended by Putin.

Neither Elon Musk nor representatives for the Tesla and SpaceX CEO have commented on his father’s remarks.

Epstein, 66, was found dead in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. His death sparked years of conspiracy theories, which have been repeatedly debunked by official investigations.

For now, Errol Musk’s conspiracy theory has found a receptive platform in Moscow—even as Putin’s proclaimed truce unraveled on the battlefields of eastern Ukraine.
