Cairo, Egypt – The CAF Disciplinary Board has issued sanctions against the Fédération Sénégalaise de Football (FSF), the Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF), and several players and officials following incidents during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Final.
Key sanctions include:
Senegal (FSF):
- Head Coach Pape Bouna Thiaw suspended 5 matches and fined USD 100,000 for unsporting conduct.
- Players Iliman Cheikh Baroy Ndiaye and Ismaila Sarr suspended 2 matches each for unsporting behaviour.
- FSF fined USD 615,000 for misconduct by players, staff, and supporters.
Morocco (FRMF):
- Player Achraf Hakimi suspended 2 matches (1 match suspended for 1 year).
- Player Ismaël Saibari suspended 3 matches and fined USD 100,000.
- FRMF fined USD 315,000 for misconduct by players, staff, supporters, and stadium ball boys.
Protests:
- FRMF’s protest against FSF was rejected.
CAF emphasized that these measures uphold principles of fair play, integrity, and respect in African football.
