We cannot remain silent indefinitely in the face of such barbarity. A group of Sahrawi activists has been imprisoned in Moroccan dungeons for 14 years under inhumane conditions. They are victims of the silence of the UN and negligence. Forgotten by the international community and by their own vanguard movement, the Polisario Front.
In Palestine, the heroic Hamas resistance movement has achieved historic feats to free its people languishing in Israeli prisons. In Western Sahara, no one shows interest in them, despite the fact that the Moroccan authorities subject them to a special regime of humiliation, torture, and suffering.
The Polisario Front has never lifted a finger for them, despite knowing that the enemy harbors hatred toward the Sahrawis. Despite knowing that Moroccans are a people deeply rooted in cruelty and the humiliation of others. They are the only people who practice the bottle torture method, inserting bottles into the anus to humiliate others. King Hassan II was cruel, but he never instructed his executioners to insert bottles into the detainees’ backsides. That initiative came from the warped minds of the servants of the Moroccan regime, servants raised in a society where malice is innate, a people cruel by nature.
The « feats » of the Moroccans are well known in Europe. The Mocro Mafia in the Netherlands, trafficking in France and Spain, terrorist attacks, women beheaded for divorcing their husbands… The list of Moroccan crimes has no limits, it could fill the pages of a voluminous book.
The conduct of Moroccan citizens is evident in the political scandals of the Makhzen government: espionage, corruption, blackmail, sex tourism, pedophilia… and a king stumbling through the streets of Paris under the influence of alcohol. Morocco is a perfect example of the saying: « Every people gets the leaders they deserve. » The Moroccan official, regardless of his rank, is a criminal and a wrongdoer. He didn’t learn this in the Ministry of the Interior’s School of Administration but from the breast of his mother. What can be expected from a country where videos of an ambassador insulting his Sahrawi counterpart in the vilest way imaginable have gone viral?
It is in this country that the heroes of the Gdeim Izik epic are imprisoned, forgotten by the Sahrawi leadership in some of the worst prisons in the world. The least that could have been done for them is to make their release a prerequisite for any negotiation, knowing that the negotiations were nothing more than a tourist excursion for the participants. That way, at least some benefit could be gained from a process that leads nowhere.
The case of the Gdeim Izik Group is a living example of the incompetence of the Sahrawi leaders: no independence, no military victories, no diplomatic achievements, and no release of Sahrawi prisoners. This is the balance of 50 years under the leadership of the clique guiding our destiny.
On this occasion, I pay tribute to these Sahrawi activists who have set the best example of sacrifice and struggle for the just cause of their people.
